Protecting Resources
At Bondalti, the challenge is permanent and cross-cutting. The entire organisation - from the offices to the shop floor - has internalised the importance of Sustainability. We are aware of the importance of preserving Natural Resources and making rational and sustainable choices.
The priority is to opt for renewable resources wherever possible. Reduce, reuse and recycle is a mantra applied on a daily basis. That allows us to reduce the consumption of the goods that make up the Natural Capital of our value chain.
To do more and better are concerns that form part of Bondalti’s culture. A constant search for increased efficiency and effectiveness, thereby reducing and minimising the consumption of all types of resources. Opting for state-of-the-art technology, as is the case with the Nitric Acid plant - an example of best industrial practices.
There is also a strategic and systematic concern with the reduction of consumption and the reuse of raw materials, in particular water and energy. At Bondalti we have also integrated the concept of the Circular Economy and the reuse of hydrochloric acid is a success story in this regard. Finally, together with other companies from the Estarreja Chemical Hub, Bondalti led the ERASE project, which had the goal of resolving past environmental liabilities and recovering a vast habitat and a riverside area. All of this through considering our commitments to Climate Transition and the European Green Deal.
