Lifthium Energy Joins the International Lithium Association

Lifthium Energy is the most recent member of the International Lithium Association (ILiA), the only business association that represents the entire lithium value chain on a global scale, following the approval of its application by the executive committee of the said association.

Recognizing the fundamental importance of lithium in the energy transition, in general, and in electric mobility, in particular, iLiA was founded in 2021 and is headquartered in London, United Kingdom.

With more than 65 members, companies and entities from different geographies that operate in the international lithium value chain, ILia's activities are based on three strategic axes: being the global voice of the lithium industry; promoting sustainability in accordance with the best international ESG practices; and becoming the global authority in this industry.

Lifthium Energy, owned by José de Mello and Bondalti, has the ambition to become a leading global player in the refining of green lithium, contributing to the electrification of mobility. After joining the largest European consortium in the lithium value chain, the IPCEI - European Battery Innovation, Lifthium Energy's entry into ILia demonstrates the internationalization potential of its project. By 2030, Lifthium Energy intends to build two lithium refining plants, with the project valued at one billion euros, with the ambition to provide lithium hydroxide to more than two million cars a year.

For Duarte Braga, CEO of Lifthium Energy, “the approval of our application to join ILia demonstrates our commitment to becoming a world reference in green lithium refining”.
