Ultrafiltration

Ultrafiltration is a purification process, in which water is filtered through a membrane, retaining suspended solids and high molecular weight solutes present in the water. It is mainly used as a pretreatment for membrane desalination technologies (nanofiltration or reverse osmosis), river and groundwater recovery, tertiary treatment, and industrial purification or recovery processes.

The membranes used by Bondalti Water ultrafiltration systems can be outside-in or inside-out technology, with a nominal pore size of 0.03 to 0.1 µm and can operate with a maximum pressure range of 4 to 6 bar depending on the membrane applied. The membranes are made of PVDF (polyvinylidene fluoride) or PES (polyethersulfone) as applied to waters more or less loaded with suspended solids.

The systems can be applied in front or cross-flow filtration, and are designed to achieve the most efficient and robust operating conditions, fully customized according to the nature of the affluent to be treated.
