Biogas and waste recovery
Biogas is a gas saturated with water vapor, formed from the decomposition of organic matter, carried out by bacterial action and under anaerobic conditions.
Biogas can be used to produce electrical and/or thermal energy. In addition, by eliminating CO2 after a purification process, called “upgrading”, biomethane is obtained, which can be injected into the existing natural gas network or used as fuel for vehicles.
At Bondalti Water, we provide the technology and engineering capacity for the design, construction and exploration of the recovery of biogas generated in the purification plants.
Energy recovery from biogas offers numerous advantages:
- Reduction of GHG (Greenhouse Gas) emissions
- Waste management and valuation
- Sustainable Development - Circular Economy
- Reduction of unpleasant odors
- Renewable energy source
- Uninterrupted operation
- Bringing production closer to consumers
- Reduction of external energy dependence
The use of biogas for the production of thermal and electrical energy contributes to the increase in the use of renewable energies, contributing to the achievement of the 2030 goals and to the reduction of external energy dependence.
