Safety at Bondalti: continued investment ensures benchmarks

More than 3,600 hours of training for around 500 employees, with an investment of more than 1.1 million euros in 2023, which should double in 2024.  It is with these indicators, which reflect what it sees as a permanent imperative and a strategic pillar of its activity, that Bondalti celebrates World Day for Safety and Health at Work, reinforcing a consistent and deep-rooted safety culture among employees and suppliers, and prevention as the key to success.

For the company, this is also the day to mark the first anniversary of the “Rules Save Lives” project, a preventive initiative implemented at the Estarreja plant, which aims to involve all employees in the definition of procedures and best safety practices in an inclusive way.

Among the various measures of this program, based on the principle that "every accident can be avoided", are, for example, the obligation to wear Personal Protective Equipment, the definition of rules for opening pipes and equipment, for working in confined spaces or at heights, among others.

Bondalti is also investing heavily in technology, introducing digitalisation into processes, especially regarding preventive analysis and control or mitigation measures for certain hazards and risks, ensuring greater standardisation of operations and eliminating subjective factors in safety decisions.

World Day for Safety and Health at Work has been promoted by the International Labour Organisation since 2003, to promote a culture of safety and honour the victims of accidents at work and occupational diseases. This year, the central theme is the "Impact of climate change on safety and health at work", launching a debate on how emerging climatic phenomena can affect the regular and safe functioning of the most diverse professional activities.

To mark the occasion, Bondalti Chemicals is organizing a meeting with all its employees at the Estarreja plant, which will include various actions and dynamics related to the “Rules Save Lives” project.
