Bondalti Water is the company responsible for expanding the WWTP of the Kraft Heinz plant in Alfaro, La Rioja region, a project that follows the increase in the size of this multinational's complex in Spain.
In addition to responding to the increase in water treatment capacity - which will be increased to 1800 m3/h, - the Bondalti Water project aims to reinforce the environmental sustainability of operations, through the adoption of the best available techniques in terms of water recovery, reuse, regeneration and treatment, the reduction of energy and chemical consumption and the improvement of waste management.
One of the applied technologies is the membrane bioreactor (MBR), in which Bondalti Water has more than two decades of experience, and which is today one of the most effective solutions, thanks to the high quality of the effluent obtained and the ability to adapt to the particularities of each industrial sector.
In parallel, a nozzle aeration/agitation system (AEMJET) will be applied, one of the preferred methods for introducing oxygen into homogenization tanks with a probability of high concentrations of oils and fats. Air distribution efficiency is critical for the proper functioning of homogenization systems as well as in aerobic biological processes.
With this project, which is expected to be completed in March next year, Bondalti Water is continuing to strengthen its presence in a sector where it has more than 500 references.
