Bondalti Cantábria offered the Torrelavega Nursing Home Foundation state-of-the-art equipment designed to facilitate and promote communication for children who are unable to speak or have oral expression difficulties.
Called TOBII Communicator, it is a device based on eye tracking technology (Eyetracking), which allows us to understand needs, feelings, or ideas through eye movement.
The Torrelavega Nursing Home Foundation provides continuous support to several dozen children with different types of disabilities, so the use of this new tool represents an important step in the objectives of improving the communication capacity of young people.
Given the positive impact it may have on the quality of life of many children, namely on cognitive processes, this initiative represents for Bondalti another successful phase of the Social and Corporate Responsibility program that it has been developing with the community of Torrelavega, where it has had an industrial unit since 2019.
The equipment delivery event, held at the Foundation's facilities, was attended by the president of this organization, Mercedes Izárraga, and the director of the Bondalti Cantábria plant, Antonio Díaz, among other personalities.
Based on high technology, the TOBII Communicator ensures functional communication and the development of basic skills in this field, generating benefits in terms of autonomy. It also promotes the desire to communicate, enhanced by the internalization of basic language functions, such as requesting, rejecting, or giving information.
